- December - February: Dry Season
This is an excellent time for bird lovers and photographers
- March: The start of the rainy season. Rains are not too heavy and we see a lush of new short grass. During this season game can be viewed easily. It is also a time when we see butterflies come out in their thousands, many beautiful multicolored flying creatures. Butterfly chasers would not want to miss this spectacle.
- April - May: This is the heavy rainy season. it is during this season that we see bushes, shrubs, tress, grass and other vegetation get new life as the rains breath down on them. Roads to many parts of the game reserves are impassable and you can only get there by air. Game drives can be a challenge but with a 4*4 tour van it could prove to be a great adventure. - June - October: This is a much cooler and drier season than the rest. July & August are the peak tourist seasons and an excellent time to for game viewing. This is also the season when the annual migration occurs.
- November: Short rains - birds begin to arrive from Eurasia making this the best season for bird lovers and photographers.You can catch up with your favorite birds at lake bogoria, baringo, nakuru and naivasha. On the other side of the country the wildebeest start their migration south out of masai mara game reserve.

it is recommended that you have your malaria jabs two weeks before embarking on your safari. In the event that you forget to get them you can buy malaria tablets from recommended hospitals or pharmacies in Kenya. Most hotels, game lodges and camps have in house qualified nurses and doctors who can administer the jabs.
