Kisite - Mpunguti Marine Park
Kisite - Mpunguti marine park is a protected park that has been in establishment since the 1970's. It is located 100 kilometers from mombasa and can be accessed by boat - dhow from the shimoni jetty. Shimoni is a small fishing village near the Tanzania border. With over 250 species of marine fish and about 40 variaties of coral species the park is an excellent spot for deep sea viewing and picture taking.
An underwater camera would be an excellent equipment to carry if you are a diver hoping to explore the incredible underworld beauty and kaleidoscopic colors they present and the vast number of fish and coral reefs. The island has some of the finest coral reefs in the world.
